Two days later, I was called into the war room to find Sundance, Sierra, and Wrath already seated around the big table. Wrath looked like he was ready to kill someone.

“Fuck, you found Jaws,” I deduced.

Sierra grimaced. “Yeah. He’s back in town. Your reach out worked.”

“Took him long enough.”

Almost a month, to be exact. I’d almost hoped we’d be able to forget this was even a plan.

“Have a seat,” Sundance said.

I sat facing Sierra and waited for my impending doom.

“Taxi and Tackle are on their way,” Sundance said. “But he wants to get the op started immediately so I’ve got a follow-up call out to Jaws.”

“When’s Taxi gonna be here?” I asked.

“Tomorrow.”

“Fuck,” I breathed out. “Not a whole lot of time.”

“No,” Sundance agreed. “I’ll let you know when we have a time to meet with Jaws.”

I nodded. “Okay.”

“For now, go drink, smoke, whatever. Relax.”

I stood and rapped my knuckles on the table. “Easier said than done.”

“I know, brother. Spend time with your woman. It’ll help. I’m aiming to meet with Jaws on Thursday.”

I gave them a chin lift and walked out of the room.
